Our Membership Bylaws
As of this day, September seventeenth in the year of two-thousand and three we
the members of the first known Grand Marnier Club in the world, hereby set
forth these bylaws:
Michael T. Maraziti shall be considered "Founder of the world’s first Grand
Marnier Club".
There shall be no limit to the total number of members however; the first
thirty-two persons to join the club will be considered the "Charter Members".
The group as a whole at the monthly meetings shall vote on all rules and
bylaws.
Amendments to these bylaws can only be made by the membership with a majority
vote.
Monthly meetings shall be held on the third Monday of each month at eight
o’clock in the evening.
In order to have the floor at the meeting, one must be holding the ceremonial
bottle of Grand Marnier.
All new members joining the club must be sponsored by two charter members.
New members shall be required to act as greeters and assist in the set-up and
break down for their first three meetings before having the privilege to vote.
In order to remain in good standing as a Grand Marnier Club member, one must do
a shot in an official Grand Marnier Club bar once per month on a non-meeting
day.
Members may never order Grand Marnier on the rocks in an official Grand Marnier
Club bar.
At the initiation of membership, one must do the first shot from their bottle
with the Founder if he is available.
A member need not provide a gratuity in accordance with the initial membership
dues, however gratuity must be given for each shot provided for consumption.
Members not abiding by the bylaws of the club will be considered to exhibit
conduct unbecoming a Grand Marnier Club member.
Conduct unbecoming a Grand Marnier Club Member will result in the individual
being placed up for a vote of expulsion, requiring a two-thirds majority vote.
There are to be no refunds of membership fees or dues.
In the event a member leaves the direct vicinity of an official Grand Marnier
Club bar, a member must still adhere to all bylaws. I.e. ordering a shot from
an off premise sight to be taken by a member in an official Grand Marnier Club.
Only the member controls the consumption of their bottle. In the member’s
absence, case by case authorization for a family member, spouse, friend or
associate is required by directly contacting the bar by phone.
Once obtaining membership, a member is instated for life and even after death.
Their position on the shelf can never be shared, transferred nor replaced.
